Toyota Kata and Hoshin Kanri (Policy Deployment)

In this article I describe how the methodology Toyota Kata supports Hoshin Kanri. Hoshin Kanri is the structured break down of overall strategic goals down to the shop floor. More over it is the process of catch ball where the overall goals and sub goals are tossed back and forth between the organizational levels and departments until agreement is created. Toyota Kata is the process of creating small successive experiments through PDCA and at the end reaching larger goals and moving towards a vision.


I think it makes great sense that The Toyota Kata supports the overall Hoshin Kanri process. But read the article and get wiser on my thoughts and make your own opinion if it makes sense or not.
